We made it! But all photo's prior to this lost when the smart card, bent whilst being pushed into the card reader
= 'BUGGER'
Anyway, only photo's of our getting bogged and our efforts to get out. Took the short cut across the mud flats - wagon track to Mt Ive Station. Never mind the big fish and sunset photo's at Lincoln National Park!
The DRY LAKE RACING not so dry again, it started to rain on Thursday and has not stopped for 30 odd hours. Last week it was great weather and a dry lake.
Sue and Eslyn all ready and no customers for
breakfast only sold 22 eggs!
Classic Aussie 'DUNNY' except the door is on the wrong side - Should be 'LOO with a VIEW'!
Still raining Sunday morning - lake has 8 - 10" water, and the road from Iron Knob offically closed!
About 150 folks made it thru before the road closure. We elected to camp at the station due to the track conditions.
Lunch crowd!
Station hands getting the generator fuel system working, modified with drum on top to gravity feed fuel.
The Perth Harley team for #645 getting the bike ready for 2012
Some of the buildings at Mt Ive Station

Station hand Coby and Joy Newton Station owner
Len - Station owner, into the icecream cake before it melts
Past Sue's bed time!! Who's been drinking all the red's?
Old shearer's quarters for tourist stay, and old station equipment.
Add these to the collection, still in working order
We were packed and hooked up ready to leave and Len & Joy annonce they are all going on a property tour. So we unhooked and camped another night.
Goat trap. They can push in to get at the water trough.
Eagle nest at least 6 - 8', been there a few years.
With good rains the Sturt Desert Pea's are flourishing
Photo's don't do the rock formations and scale of it any justice
A pee stop spider! Was that there when I ____ Yep, sure was!
Orchids in the rock pools
Some of the many islands at Lake Gardiner
Down the rock
Yep! jacking the front end to replace a blown tire. As we had to take a wider line around some over hanging trees on the track due to our high load, we hit the STUMP!!
The offending 'STUMP'
Sure ripped this tire open!
Trough cleaning on our tour, plus it gave Len and station hands an idea where all their sheep were. With all the recent rains they tend to head for the hills and greener pastures. Thus not hanging around the water troughs. Easy to muster for shearing.
Len's slow tyre leak, which we plugged
Brown lake, silt run-off
A Bygone era, the old sttock yards and the timber fences are still standing
We departed Mt Ive with Len getting a hair cut and heading for their 'SHACK' at Venus Bay.
Yes they call it a shack - check it out at 'FISHBABOUT'
